RecDesk Announces the RecDesk Community Sponsors Program
East Hampton, CT - November 25, 2005 - Today RecDesk introduced
its RecDesk Community Sponsors Program. This optional program enables Parks
& Recreation departments to use RecDesk’s web based Parks & Recreation
management software at a reduced cost to their organization. The RecDesk
Community Sponsors Program allows RecDesk customers to negotiate sponsorship
agreements with local merchants and businesses by offering advertising space on
the department's RecDesk Community portal site. This site is used by the
community to get general information about program offerings and to perform
online registration and payment.
Mike Morris, RecDesk President, said, “RecDesk is already a very easy and
affordable way for small to medium sized Parks & Recreation departments to
manage their programs and offer online registration. The RecDesk Community
Sponsors Program is just another way that we can further reduce the net cost of
the RecDesk service to our customers".
Once a Parks & Recreation department has secured an agreement with a
local sponsor, it works with RecDesk to activate the appropriate advertising
link(s) on the RecDesk Community portal page. The dollar amounts and other
details of the agreements are at the sole discretion of the Parks &
Recreation department and the local sponsor.
"This really empowers our customers in a way that's not possible with other
products or services they buy", said Morris. "As an example, for a hypothetical
town with a population of 14,000 people, the current cost of our service is
$2400 per year. If an organization can get three sponsors to commit to $50 a
month for one year's worth of advertising, that's $1800. This means they would
effectively be paying $600 for the complete RecDesk service. If they can get
four sponsors at the same rate then the net cost is reduced to $0."
