RecDesk is all about helping recreation organizations work more effectively and efficiently with the limited resources and budget they have. This allows more time to focus on the important things – such as providing more quality programming and enhanced services to their communities.
RecDesk is used by a variety of recreation-focused organizations in over twenty states including Municipal Parks & Recreation Departments, Park Districts, Community Centers, Schools, Churches, Home Owner’s Associations, and Non-Profits.
How It Works
RecDesk is a fully-hosted, web based recreation management system. This means there is no expensive up-front investment in hardware or software. We take care of everything from system upgrades and database backups to security and PCI compliance. All that is required to use RecDesk is a browser and a computer with internet access. RecDesk can be accessed by any number of users in your organization from any location.
There are two components to RecDesk. The first of these is called RecDesk Director, which is the administrative part of the application. This is where recreation staff and volunteers create programs, manage facilities, work with rosters, and more.
The second component is called RecDesk Community. RecDesk Community is the public-facing part of RecDesk that allows members of the community to see what programs and activities are being offered and to register for and pay for these activities online. Designed for Ease of Use
From the very beginning, RecDesk has been designed to be easy to use and intuitive. It is a core part of our service and something that influences every decision we make in terms of upgrades and enhancements. Part-time and seasonal staff can be proficient in the basic functionality of RecDesk in less than an hour and experts shortly thereafter 😉 This is aligned with Our Philosophy that Software should pave the way, not get in the way.
Security & Reliability
Server Security
RecDesk runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). All RecDesk machines limit access to the least number of people necessary to keep them up and running.
RDP access is white-list restricted to prevent any unauthorized access to customer data.
Data Storage
Live RecDesk data is stored on AWS in SQL Server (AWS RDS), and access is limited to machines that need read and write access to the data. AWS RDS also performs incremental backups of the SQL Server datastore every 5 minutes.
Document & Object data storage is managed by AWS S3. Full backups on this data is performed on a weekly basis.
Employee Access
No RecDesk employee will ever see your customer data unless required to do so for support reasons.
Credit Card Safety
Customer credit card information is handed off to our supported payment processors (i.e. Authorize.net, ETS, PayPal), companies dedicated to processing this sensitive data on PCI-Compliant servers.
Our servers do not store your credit card information.
Communications
All data exchanged with RecDesk is done via the HTTPS protocol.
